Educational Support
Our Approach
At The London Neurocognitive Clinic, we provide comprehensive educational support that integrates neuropsychological insight with evidence-based educational practice. We work with children and young people of all ages, offering assessments and interventions that explore cognitive strengths and challenges, as well as the emotional and behavioural factors that impact learning. By collaborating with families, teachers, and special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs), we ensure that support is practical, achievable, and sustainable both in school and at home.
What does educational support involve?
Educational support at our clinic begins with understanding the child’s unique learning profile. This may include assessment for specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, or written expression difficulties, as well as broader evaluation of attention, memory, and processing skills. We then design a support plan that integrates strategies for improving learning efficiency, building resilience, and reducing anxiety. Families and schools receive detailed recommendations, helping to ensure that the child is supported consistently across environments.

Do you offer literacy and numeracy support?
Yes. Literacy and numeracy are core areas of learning, and difficulties here can have a knock-on effect on a child’s confidence and motivation. We provide assessments that examine skills such as reading fluency, spelling, writing, and mathematical reasoning, while also evaluating the cognitive processes that underlie them-such as working memory, executive functioning, and processing speed. By identifying these root causes, we can recommend targeted interventions and classroom strategies that help children build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy.

How can educational support improve emotional wellbeing?
Academic struggles can often impact self-esteem, social confidence, and motivation. When children feel supported in their learning, their sense of achievement and resilience grows. Educational support not only addresses academic goals but also enhances overall wellbeing by reducing frustration and improving self-belief. At The London Neurocognitive Clinic, our approach ensures that educational progress and emotional health go hand in hand, supporting the child as a whole person rather than focusing solely on academic outcomes.
Questions our clients ask
Frequently asked questions
You may have lots of questions and that’s understandable. We have provided some answers below to frequently asked questions but if you’re still unsure about something do get in contact with us.
How is educational support different from tutoring?
Tutoring focuses primarily on subject knowledge and helping children to keep up with schoolwork. Educational support, however, looks deeper at the underlying cognitive and emotional processes that affect learning. This may include assessing memory, executive function, processing speed, or attention, alongside emotional resilience and motivation. By addressing the root causes, our interventions aim to create long-term improvements in both academic performance and self-confidence.
Do you work with children across all age groups?
Yes, our services are designed to support children and young people across primary, secondary, and further education. Our assessments and strategies are tailored to the individual’s developmental stage, ensuring that the recommendations are age-appropriate and effective. We also work closely with families and schools to ensure continuity of support throughout transitions, such as moving from primary to secondary school.
Can educational support be delivered online?
Yes, many of our consultations, feedback sessions, and interventions can be delivered online. This flexibility allows us to reach families who may not be able to attend in person and ensures that support is accessible regardless of location. Online educational support can be particularly effective for follow-up sessions, strategy coaching, or parental guidance.
