Regional Service
Specialist Neuropsychological Services in Cambridge and Surrounding Areas
Our Approach
At The London Neurocognitive Clinic, our Cambridge regional service draws upon a range of specialist disciplines across neuropsychology, clinical psychology, psychiatry and neuropsychiatry, occupational therapy, neurological physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and neuropsychology-led case management. The precise professionals involved will depend upon the person’s needs, the purpose of the referral and regional clinician availability. Where multidisciplinary input is appropriate, we can help ensure that assessment, treatment and rehabilitation are coordinated around meaningful and realistic goals.
What specialist services are available in Cambridge and surrounding areas?
Individuals in Cambridge and surrounding areas may be able to access a range of assessment, therapy and rehabilitation services through The London Neurocognitive Clinic. These can include neuropsychological assessment, psychological therapy, assessment of neurological or neuropsychiatric presentations, cognitive rehabilitation, occupational therapy, neurological physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and case management.
We can support people affected by acquired or traumatic brain injury, stroke, functional neurological disorder, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and other neurological or neurodegenerative conditions. Our clinicians also work with individuals experiencing ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, trauma, psychosis-spectrum conditions, adjustment difficulties and complex changes in cognition, emotion or behaviour.
Not every person will require input from several professionals. For some, a focused assessment or individual therapeutic intervention may be most appropriate. Others may benefit from coordinated multidisciplinary support involving different clinicians over time. We consider each referral individually and help identify the most suitable form of support.

Who can access our Cambridge regional services?
Our Cambridge services are available to adults, children and young people, families and carers, depending on the nature of the referral and the availability of an appropriately qualified clinician. Individuals and families can contact us directly, while referrals are also welcomed from GPs, healthcare professionals, schools, solicitors, case managers, insurers and other organisations involved in a person’s care or rehabilitation.
We recognise that people seek specialist support for many different reasons. Someone may be worried about changes in memory or concentration, be struggling to return to work following an injury or illness, or need help adjusting to a neurological diagnosis. A child or young person may require a clearer understanding of their cognitive, emotional or educational needs. Another individual may need coordinated rehabilitation following a significant injury or support with regaining independence in everyday life.
Whatever the circumstances, we begin by understanding the questions that matter most to the individual and those supporting them. This allows us to recommend an assessment or intervention that is relevant, proportionate and tailored to the person rather than applying a standard pathway to every referral.

Where and how can appointments be provided in Cambridge?
Our Cambridge-based provision helps people access specialist support within Cambridge and surrounding areas. Depending on the service required, clinical appropriateness and the availability of the relevant professional, appointments may take place in person, remotely through a secure video platform, or within an individual’s home, school, workplace or community environment.
Some assessments and rehabilitation interventions are best completed face to face, particularly where a clinician needs to observe how a person manages particular cognitive, physical, communicative or everyday tasks. Other consultations, therapy sessions, family meetings and professional discussions may be delivered effectively online. In some cases, a blended approach combining in-person and remote appointments may offer the greatest flexibility.
Our team will discuss the available options with you before arranging an appointment. We currently support enquiries from Cambridge and wider Cambridgeshire, including surrounding locations such as Ely, Huntingdon, St Neots, Newmarket, Royston and Saffron Walden. If you live outside these areas, please contact us, as we may still be able to provide remote support or identify an appropriate regional clinician.
Questions our clients ask
Frequently asked questions
You may have lots of questions, and that is understandable. We have provided answers to some frequently asked questions below. If you are still unsure about anything, please get in contact with us.
Do you have clinicians based in Cambridge?
The London Neurocognitive Clinic has established Cambridge-based neuropsychological provision, including in-person neuropsychological assessments where clinically appropriate. Access to other professional disciplines will depend upon the service required, the person’s location and current clinician availability. When you contact us, our team will review your enquiry and explain the most appropriate available options.
Do I need a referral from my GP or another professional?
Not necessarily. Individuals, parents, families and carers can contact us directly to discuss private assessment, therapy or rehabilitation. We also accept referrals from healthcare professionals, schools, solicitors, case managers, insurers and other organisations. For certain services, it may be helpful to obtain relevant medical, educational or rehabilitation records so that the clinician can understand the person’s history and current needs.
Can I access more than one type of specialist support?
Yes. Some individuals require only one assessment or intervention, while others may benefit from several professionals working together. Where appropriate, we can help coordinate multidisciplinary input across areas such as neuropsychology, psychological therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, psychiatry, neuropsychiatry or case management. Any recommendations will be guided by the individual’s needs and goals.
