Biography

Ms Betty Chodewa is an Occupational Therapist specialising in Neurorehabilitation, with experience supporting individuals living with neurological conditions, cognitive difficulties, mental health conditions and complex long-term health needs across community and neurorehabilitation settings.

Betty is passionate about enabling individuals to achieve greater independence through a holistic occupational therapy approach that considers physical, cognitive, emotional and environmental factors. She believes rehabilitation should be meaningful, collaborative and centred around the person’s own goals, helping individuals rebuild confidence and participate fully in the occupations that matter most to them.

 

Awards & Education

Ms Chodewa completed her Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences at Rhodes University before undertaking her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Oxford Brookes University. Her postgraduate training provided extensive clinical experience across community rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, physical health, learning disabilities and mental health services, developing expertise in functional assessment, cognitive rehabilitation and person-centred intervention planning.

Throughout her clinical training and professional practice, she remains committed to multidisciplinary working and lifelong professional development, ensuring that her practice continues to reflect current evidence and best practice in occupational therapy and neurorehabilitation.
