Occupational Therapy
Our Approach
At The London Neurocognitive Clinic, our holistic person-centred occupational therapy approach focuses on individualised care that considers the physical, emotional, and cognitive aspects of each person. We prioritise personalised treatment plans that address the unique needs and goals of our clients, incorporating evidence-based interventions and adaptive strategies. Our occupational therapists assess clients’ abilities and challenges comprehensively, working collaboratively with them to enhance independence and quality of life. Through a client-centred approach, we aim to empower individuals with neurological conditions to maximise their potential, improve daily functioning, and achieve meaningful participation in activities that are important to them.

What does an occupational therapy assessment involve?
What does an occupational therapy assessment involve?
An occupational therapy assessment involves a comprehensive evaluation of an individual’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental factors in relation to their daily activities and goals. This assessment typically includes:
1. Review of medical history and current concerns
2. Observation of functional abilities and challenges
3. Assessment of fine and gross motor skills
4. Evaluation of sensory processing and perception
5. Functional cognitive assessments
6. Analysis of activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
7. Identification of environmental barriers
8. Collaboration with the individual and other healthcare professionals
9. Development of personalised goals and treatment plan based on assessment findings.
The assessment aims to understand the individual’s strengths, limitations, and areas for improvement to facilitate tailored interventions and promote optimal independence and engagement in daily activities.
